Karen and Tracey are sisters who grew up in Melbourne and both began training and working in the Beauty industry in 1990. Tracey decided to move to the country with her husband and daughter in 1994 whilst Karen began working for herself in salons when her boys were young, as they grew so did her love of the beauty industry.

Karen was working happily in her Blackburn Salon, when in 1994, her BFF was a model for a Cosmetic Tattooing Treatment and suggested Karen do the Cosmetic Tattoo training. That inspired a whole new appreciation of what she could offer her clients.

Tracey furthered her beauty training after having her second child. She began using a salon skincare range that Karen had come across which contained large amounts of Active NZ Manuka Honey. The results she experienced were amazing, she loved the product so much she began her own business as the Northern Country Distributor, training, promoting and selling this incredible skincare range to the Beauty Industry. Tracey also has many years’ experience working in management within the retail and medical fields.

Karen and Tracey had always shared a dream of having a salon together and with Karen and her husband relocating to Bendigo this dream was reignited and in 2021 Katra Beauty Collective was born.
